Tom believes that the partnership between Bowstring and a client is fundamental to achieving a successful outcome. The client brings their high-performing business and the knowledge to operate it, and Bowstring contributes process excellence, deep industry knowledge and relationships. Together the partnership realizes the optimal value of the company.
Tom is Bowstring’s IT & Professional Services’ team lead and has advised in over 70 M&A transactions and other advisory engagements. Tom and his team have a deep understanding of the industries in which they advise, enabling clients to optimize their positioning to both strategic and financial buyers. His team takes an approach driven by dogged determination and a tireless work ethic to ensure that every client achieves their stated goals. Representative transactions include the sale of Mckinnis Consulting to Navigant, the sale of Sagacious to Accenture, the sale of The Channel Company to Stone Goff Partners and the sale of Peoplenet to the Gores Group.
Tom joined Bowstring Advisors in 2013 to advise growth-oriented technology, IT services and consulting companies. He has over 20 years of investment banking experience, advising private and public companies as they explore strategic alternatives. He also has deep experience in Mergers & Acquisitions and transaction structuring as well as capital raising, both public and private.
Prior to joining Bowstring, Tom was a founder and Managing Director at a merchant bank, Bulger Capital, performing advisory work as well as investing the firm’s committed capital. Tom started his investment banking career at New York headquartered Needham & Company, where he performed public equity and private capital fund raising as well as M&A. He was co-head of the East Coast Services and Software group.
Tom is a graduate of Hobart College, where he was captain of the rowing team. He also received an MBA from the F.W. Olin School of Business at Babson College. Tom lives in the Boston area with his wife, Kristin, and three children.
