Scott believes each transaction is unique requiring a creative approach and experienced execution. Bowstring Advisors actively advises our clients to ensure their businesses are properly positioned, prospective strategic and financial partners are motivated and transaction processes are efficiently executed.
Scott leads Bowstring’s Software practice and also has expertise in Healthcare and IT & Professional Services. During his 25-year career, he has executed over 90 M&A and capital raising transactions including AutoQuotes, Acendre, nextSource, Compas Technology, Talent Rover, EverythingBenefits, Veda Group Limited, NettPositive, TrustedID, Performance Assessment Network and Verify Job System. Scott brings a unique 360-degree perspective to his team as prior to Bowstring Advisors he was a corporate development executive for two companies in S&P 500, the president of a private equity backed business which was sold to an industry leader and an investment banker.
Scott joined Bowstring Advisors in 2016 to advise software and technology companies. He returned to investment banking to leverage his experience building, buying and selling companies to help clients maximize the value of their businesses.
Prior to Bowstring, Scott spent four years with Equifax Inc. leading M&A transactions to support its growth strategy in human capital management, data and advanced analytics, and several SaaS industry verticals. He was CEO of Bagster, which raised $17 million of private equity and was sold to Waste Management. After the sale, Scott continuing managing Bagster, while also serving as Managing Director in the corporate development group leading acquisition and integration projects until 2011. Beginning in 2004, he was Managing Partner of one of the largest PODS franchise groups and later sold the business to PODS Enterprise Inc. (owned by Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan). Scott also spent 12 years in investment banking with Robinson Humphrey and Bank of America.
Scott is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned his MBA from Kellogg School at Northwestern University. He serves on the Board of Directors and as Treasurer of ACG Atlanta (Association for Corporate Growth). He is also on the Endowment Board and Finance Committee at The Cathedral of St. Philip. Scott lives in Atlanta with his wife, Cathy, and they have three children in college.
