David believes that it is imperative to see things from his clients’ perspectives. Oftentimes different clients have vastly different goals – value maximization, deal certainty, finding the right partner, or a smooth transition. At Bowstring, the genuine understanding of the client’s priorities is equally important as other transaction dynamics, and is integral to realizing the optimal outcome.
David is a senior member of Bowstring’s Industrial Services team. His transaction experience spans a number of sectors including facility services, distribution, environmental services, capital goods and equipment, paper and packaging, chemicals, and aerospace and defense. Representative deals include the sale of MC Sign to Arcapita, the sale of DS Waters of America to Crestview Partners, the sale of Lubrizol Corporation to Berkshire Hathaway and International Paper’s acquisition of Temple-Inland.
David joined Bowstring in 2017, recognizing a tremendous opportunity to build a leading Industrial Services practice on the rapidly growing Bowstring platform. He brings over a decade of investment banking experience, having advised clients on over 20 M&A transactions in excess of $20 billion in aggregate transaction value. His experience includes advising on multibillion dollar public company mergers, corporate carveouts and take-privates, as well as middle market sell-side and buy-side transactions involving both family-owned businesses and private equity portfolio companies.
Prior to joining Bowstring, David was a Director in the Industrials group at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey in Atlanta where he led the Chemicals & Chemicals Distribution practice group. Prior to SunTrust, he was a Vice President in the Industrials M&A group at Evercore Partners in New York for five years. David began his career as an Investment Banking Analyst at The Robinson-Humphrey Company in Atlanta. Thereafter, he was a key member of the corporate development team at private equity-owned MedAssets, Inc., where he directly supported the executive team on several initiatives including the completion of eight acquisitions and preparation for a successful initial public offering.
David graduated from The University of Virginia and received an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management. David lives in Atlanta with his wife, Jenny, and his two children.
