Alan believes that extraordinary client outcomes are fundamentally driven by the attributes that attracted him to join Bowstring Advisors as one of the early team members. First and foremost, taking a client-centric approach by listening and truly understanding client goals. Secondly, running a succinct and competitive process, and through perseverance, innovation and traditional hard-work, exceeding client expectations.
Alan is part of Bowstring’s Human Capital Management team where his depth of experience in the sector is unmatched on a global basis and a testament to the firm’s industry focused approach. Alan has extensive skill in running transaction processes on a global level to both private equity and strategic buyers. Representative transactions include the recapitalization of Vaco with Olympus Partners, the sale of Accretive Solutions to RGP and the sale of Veritaaq to Manpower.
Alan joined Bowstring in 2010 to advise growth-oriented businesses in the Human Capital sector. The industry has become a passion for Alan where he is recognized as a thought leader. He presents regularly on key topics, globally, and is also a published author on the sector. With 15 years of experience, he has executed M&A and financing transactions totaling more than $4 billion in enterprise value across multiple continents.
Prior to joining Bowstring, Alan worked in the M&A Group at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey where he focused on M&A, public equity offerings and capital raises for business services companies. Alan began his professional services career as an entrepreneur with Onboard Media, an LVMH company, where he organically grew an international accounts program to cover six countries with $12 million in annual sales.
Alan graduated with a degree in Economics, from Knox College and lives in Atlanta. He also studied at university in Southampton, England where he is originally from. Alan serves as an advisor and board member for select companies within his sector of focus.
